Egyptian National Theatre Festival (19th Edition)
The Egyptian National Theatre Festival returns for its 19th edition from 25 July to 11 August 2026, under the slogan “In All of Egypt” (في كل مصر). Led by actor Mohamed Riyad, the 2026 edition expands beyond the capital, with Dakahlia governorate hosting part of the programme for the first time.
The festival is the country’s principal showcase for Egyptian theatre, documenting new productions and encouraging competition among theatre groups. Beyond the main stage, it runs a parallel programme of staged readings, intellectual sessions and training workshops aimed at emerging playwrights and performers.
